Sound-post on Czhek-ease
Apologies for spelling.
Working on a bass that relies primarily on the pick-up, is sound-post placement the same as that of an acoustic ? |

Since the Czech-Ease differs from a standard double bass only from the C bouts down, I'm gonna say yes.

Czhek-ease sound-post position
I asked the question because the bass I was working on had the sound-post about two inches away from the 'normal' position; and had obviously lived down there since day one. It was low and towards the center. Given the bottom of the bass is missing might direct vibration (as on a regular bass under the G leg of the bridge) be more important than any 'pumping' of the bass bar for sound production?

source..
Have you considered the source and just ask David Gage? I think he knows his product at least as good as anyone else if not better. Give it a try!
Also, Sam Finlay who works for Gage is a Member here as well. Maybe you should message him too. |
