Default New KSD?

Will there be a new KSD?
I saw a picture of the KSD 6 string with a KS head.
Will you change the head of the KSD? Or is this a custom serie?
Have you change the Pickups?

A lot of questions..........

And no answers yet. It's still in the works. Brooklyn Gear will make the announcement when they have something new that is actually available.

Ken,
I am praying that this is the relaunch of the burner series, I had asked about when I got my BT.

Who are you Praying to? I think parting the Red Sea or re-doing the Burner Bass is even money at this time.

Buy a Lottery ticket. The odds are much better..

Don't forget thet the KSD's are a product by Brooklyn Gear and not by Ken Smith Basses. I just consult and design on the KSD project, period!

I would buy the 60's 6 string and a 70's 6 if they come out.

without hesitation. Even with the KS headstock. Adds a little of that head turning thing to it.

Just add about 2 or 3 more frets

Thumbs up KSD 60j6 and 70j6 Photo !! .....cool !

Does anyone have any new information for the KSD Proto -J 60j6 or 70j6 (6 string) ? , i lookin the Brooklygears website is no information for the product, like complete photo ( just only found in brooklyn blog) and also no specification data.
but i found it sell in some online store not in the official Brooklyn Website.
KSD- 70j6:

KSD- 60j6:
http://www.basscentral.com/2003/ksd.shtml#top
tell me the bass review if someone has bought this 6string KSD

(IMHO) the head stock design i think it's great and distinctive, different from ordinary Jazz bass style design it's really innovative

Default The KSD 6 sounds interesting, but I am getting a KSD 5 string...

I went to my favorite used music store and tried a 5 string KSD - natural with maple neck. It played very well - sounded great - like a F..... bass. The only down point was the bottom edge of the frets - they are a little sharp (needs filing down and dressing I guess). So if all goes as plan - I will have a normal 5-string. I think it has the better pre-amp.

There were some bass players asking about the new KSD 6 string. So the word is on the street about them.

Default New KSD 5 string bass

Bass Players unite...

I have an MP3 clip of me with the KSD in one of the groups I perform with. I am using the KSD 705 with the Mark Bass LMKII and two 8ohmn cabinets.

Please disregard the mistakes --- just check out the tone of the bass.
(disregard the screaming drummer - music is like a 150 proof Jim Bean for him)

(Chris with the KSD 705 bass)

The KSD has a different sound to it - because of the scale length. Even acoustically is sounds different that 34 Jazz style bass.

Merry Christmas to all...

Default The KSD 705 is gone -- replace with another woman...

My KSD 705j bass is gone. Traded for another today. It was a good bass, but not a true Ken Smith Bass; however very well done.
