Cool well..

I'm sorry that there are so few out there, it will be hard to get a response. Maybe a member has one or maybe not.

What I can say is that for the Tops (and backs) I have pulled out my best Tiger Maple stock that I have saved for over 10 years now (purchased between 1999 and 2000).

The stock as mentioned seen here in these old photos;

Only some of this wood, not all of it will make 5A Tops for the WTE models. From the looks of the current stock, re-stacked by grade about a year ago, we have plenty of wood to last.

I have been thinking a lot about a WTE ever since I saw it.

How much of a different tone is the Walnut Core going to have from a Mahogany?

Well, this Maple is slightly harder than the wood we used on the old BMT's because of where it was grown. The Necks are 5pc as opposed to 7pc as well so there are some differences before we get to the core. Also, I made all of the WTE models in 7pc wings so far to keep it all maple and walnut for the body woods. I think the sound is more focused with walnut as a core but Mahogany on an Elite sounds good too. Just that this stash of wood is for the WTE models. I have other Tiger Maple for EG models as well. Different recipe you can say.

Regards, the Master Chef..
