I had a chance to get a smith just like this one... I regret not picking it up when I had the chance...

Cool The Smith Collection

Here's a shot of my treasures, it took me a little while to collect them, but well worth the wait. I have a CR4MW 4 string, a
BT EG 5 string and my latest addition that's currently being repaired by Ken Smith a CR6 6 string all different woods from Tiger Maple to Walnut. They are all great basses and serve me well. I currently play for The MT. Carmel Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir, The Associated Praise Team and a youth group by the name of Unified Souls.

Are you sure that's a BSR5EG? It looks like a BT5EG to me..

Beautiful basses!

Cool Round 2?

Well, I think that is something we can do. You also must understand how we slot the fingerboards which is the same for fretted or lined fretless. The accuracy must be 100% with no guess work in the spacing. This is our slotting machine here that we made years ago.

I guess we could modify the Jig to cut only the sides like your photo suggests.

A lot of people seem to like those side markers. I personally like the lined look though.

Default Internal Question

Does your '05 BSR6P have the 18 volt system or the 9 volt?
Either way the wood is beautiful, was the bass created especialy for you by Ken, or did you aquire it else where?

The BSR6P has the 18 volt preamp. I bought the bass two years ago from Bass Emporium in Austin TX while traveling down there on business. I stopped in to take a look at what they had, and ended up buying it on the spot. Best playing bass I own (as well as the BT6).

Default Refinished Bsrb6

This is my 99 Bsrb6 that I am refinishing. I bought it used and decided to give it a new look and sound . I upgraded the Burner pickups and Circuit to Smith flat top pickups and a new 18v Circuit. Here are some before and after pics. This definately is my fav and main bass now.

I don't think I could cope with 7 strings, 6 is enough for me. But I'd love a BSR6 on that wide body and headstock shape.
