Ronson Hall is on a distinguished road
Default James Jamerson on YouTube!

Folks,

Here's something I haven't seen in quite a while - a clip of Marvin Gaye in concert, with the great James Jamerson sitting right behind him, playing like only Mr. Jamerson could!

Of course th rest of the Funk Brothers (or at least most of the originals) are in attendance, amd the sound is...well, the Sound. The inimitable, superb "Motown" sound.

Here's the link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y9KC7uhMY9s

You'll find the first good shot of him playing at about 1:31 into the clip. Note the one-fingered stroke style he was famous for (he affectionately called his picking finger "The Hook"). I tell ya, this guy inspired me to love the bass when I was only 9 years old, and I didn't even know who he was. What a gift he had!

Enjoy.
