Hi Hugh, I think you may expect to hear a small volume increase. However your mileage may vary, etc. The good thing is that Bob Gollihur sells them for only $50! My New Standard ply came with a Wittner, but I prefer it with a nrmal ebony tailpiece - arco is easier and there's less boom.
