I stumbled upon this link... They have pretty much every wood you can thinkof listed with info about it and pix...

lots of thumb nails load on this page so takes a bit to load...

Have you read this? http://www.kensmithbasses.com/woodpa...econtents.html

What good is looking at wood if the information is not directly related to making a Bass. Also, how the wood is used is even more important, not just the kind of wood.

Just kind of cool seeing all the different woods that are out there..

I know most of them would be absolutely useless on any instrument... but look cool...

Cool Woods....

Yep, different woods are interesting study. Many "bass makers" out there making basses with furniture wood (because it looks good). Be careful not to fall into that category. Furniture wood may look good, but the bass probably sounds like crap.
