Brace of BTs
Hi, bought a couple of BTs last year - see photos.
The concentric tone controls on the BT5 are sticky. Turning the treble turns the bass too. Is there a way to fix this ? Finally, could you tell me which exact model are the BTs, e.g. elite, etc Thanks |

There was NO Elite model name then. If you loosen the treble knob, lift it a hair and then re-tighten it, all should be good.
Also, these are old. Things can happen. No matter what you spend, you can not buy a Car that will last as long without needing service like a Smith bass. Also, the knobs on the Ebony 6 string are NOT from us. So, I do not know what you have in there as well. |

Thanks Ken.
Do you know what the woods are ? Macassar top & walnut core for BT6, flame maple & walnut core for the BT5 I think |

I think back then, the core woods would have been Mahogany. I would need to see them better on the sides to tell but dark mahogany in a picture might be hard to tell from lighter walnut. |

I adjusted the pot like you said - its works perfectly. Thanks.
Can you tell the woods from the serial numbers ? 89519 for the BT5. 6G94991EW for the BT6. |
