How to protect the back of your bass??
Hi all
Was just wondering, is there anything you can do to protect the back of your bass from wear marks? I know to turn your buckle around etc, but what about just rubbing on buttons etc. Was thinking I could tape something to the back of it as a guard, just a piece of cloth or something, but thought the tape would probably mark the finish. Is there anything out there or suggestions? Do you guys do anything? |

I either don't wear a belt, or wear a long t-shirt or polo shirt not tucked in, or I slide my belt over so the buckle is between my first and second belt loop to the left (for playing a conventional right-handed electric bass - obviously it would be opposite for a person playing a left-handed bass).

Protective film....
There's a clear protective film (slightly tacky on the backside but doesn't harm finish) that you could apply to the back. Similar to what is utilized on iPhone or Cell phone displays. Not sure off-hand where you can purchase this (Google - Protective Film), but this stuff is used for exactly this reason, as well as many other applications other than instruments.
