I'm curious. I took notice of your settings on the bass. Looks like you're favoring the bridge p/u, and you have bass, mids, and treble boosted considerably. Not that there's anything wrong with this, just curious of these settings. What amplification and speaker cabs do you play through?

That picture isn't mine. It from the former owner.

I use all the controls set flat (no boost and no cut)! I play this baby through an Eden WTX 260 and a Aguilar GS112 cabinet.

That makes more sense to me and you have a nice set-up, I might add . I also use a WTX-260. Mainly as a post DI to FOH. The live board mix I am getting from my 260 and Smith is hard to beat. The soundmen always love me because it's an easy bass mix for them.

Is your GS112 an 8 or 4 ohm cabinet?

Just wanting to see how much of the amps power you are utilizing. At 8 ohms, you're getting around 180W from the 260. The WTX-260 can handle a 4-ohm load with an output somewhere in the 300W+ range. Since you only have an 8-ohm cabinet, this is good, because you could add one more 8-ohm cabinet (connected parallel) and get the most from that amp and additional coverage if needed. You may not need it, however, if you ever do, you can. You would be impressed!

That's true Tim. I got the 8 ohm because i only play small gigs and use the amp mostly for praticing, so i don't need much power. And , as you said, i can always add another cab.

Hey,

This is my Ken Smith BSRMW 5 string, strung up E to C. It feels and sounds absolutely amazing.

Here I am playing some gypsy jazz with it.

Hi!

Here's some pics of my 6-strings:

-90 BT6 (could someone tell me the correct model name?)

-03 BSR6GN

And my newest BSR5M (is that the correct name for it?) from -01.

"Correct model name"? I'd say BT6. What does the serial number say?

Thumbs up My 2 BSR 5EG's

Hi Tim, and everyody else off course!

As promissed a picture of the BSR 5EG FX I've traded for my Alembic
and my other BSR 5EG.
Without any doubt the best basses I've ever played.
That means the sound as well as playability and looks!
Really amazing! Keep up the good work Ken!
And thanks Rainer for introducing me to Smith Basses!

Greetz,
Dirk

Thumbs up Nice!

Hi Dirk,

The basses look great. However, I clicked on the pictures, but I am unable to see the larger view of your basses. Seems to be something wrong with the ability to view your pics in a larger view. Could it be the image is too large either in file size or dimension? I'll try again later.
