Pino Cazzaniga is on a distinguished road
Default Nicola Rossi

During the holidays I translated (more or less) the report of a restoration I did the last year.
The instrument is a Nicola Rossi double bass of 1844.
I left the measuremants in mm to save the compromises I did with my "metric" eye (wears, different plates, G and E side different rib heights etc.).
When I say "D neck" I mean something slightly longer than a modern D neck. With the thumb at the heel opposite to the second finger, the first finger plays D.
It seem to be an Eb neck, but here people use the 1-3-4 fingering at the lower positions, so I can't say.
Of course, any suggestion is welcome.
