Default post your videos!

this was recorded live, on a tiny stage, in a deserted club, the saturday of thanksgiving weekend.. The only people there were the employees of the club, family, and a couple of friends..

the sound isn't great because this was recorded on a camcorder.. The stage is literally just big enough for our gear, and us to stand on it, so don't expect any gymnastics..

you have to see my hair blowing in the wind and light towards the end, it's epic..

WOW After seeing and hearing all of you play. I think I'll wait a while before I post a clip of any kind. Keep up the great playing.

Default What Inspired me to get a Smith - Just this out!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKqn6...eature=related

The solo and video starting at 2:44 just floored me, back in the day. I purchased my 1st smith back in August 1993.

Notice how well the drummer is holding it together for this solo... drummers please take note. When the bass player solos... this is how it is done!

Default cedric waterschoot bass solo

hi,

It's probably not my "job" to post this here.
But the video is also on his myspace so i don't think he would mind me posting it here!

It's a bass solo from my teacher Cedric Waterschoot with his BT6EG with a band named chroma!

enjoy

Couple of questions:

1. What pre-amp and pick-ups are you using on this bass?
2. Is the fretboard an original fretless or did someone pull the frets and fill in the slots?

Thank you for your nice comments.

I don't know much about gear. I found the pick up and preamp on ebay. It's a EMG I guess pretty standard...???? paid $50 used.

2. Is the fretboard an original fretless or did someone pull the frets and fill in the slots?
Also don't know.
I got this bass about 12 years ago at a pawn shop.

So here is the story.
I went to this pawn shop to trade in a old speaker cab that I had. they gave me $75 for the cab. Then I saw that bass on a corner. They had just got it. It was all dusty and it looked pretty old. I kept asking the guy how much he wanted and he told me that he had to clean it up and check it out. Asked to come back another day. I kept bugging the guy, and he wanted to get rid of me. So then he went like "how about $75?"

$75. - yeah, that'l work, lol - great find! Chu Ching! When I heard your mix, I was certain it wasn't stock preamp or pick-ups; just wasn't sure what was on that bass. At first I thought it was JEast JRetro pre-amp. Either way, it sounds fantastic! Great score on that bass!

I am working on that. I've tried a lot of axes and I've had some real fancy custom basses, and after all I have to say, nothing feels like a Smith!

@Tim, Thank you for your nice comments.
