Tuning fork...
Greetings!
Does anyone know of a source for an A=220 tuning fork? An A=110 tuning fork? Many thanks, in advance! Best regards! Jim |

[Edit]: I tried again since this is an item that I feel would certainly be handy and I found a tuning fork supplier that can get us some but it is a matter of quantity. If we can find out how many people want them and do a group purchase indigo instruments can supply them for sure at 220 Hz and maybe even 110 Hz. Price might be under 20 U$D, depending on how many we can order for interested forum members. So I guess at this point we have 2 people interested? We would have to work out the order/ pay details, but I think the first step is getting a head count. Last edited by David Powell; 06-28-2007 at 02:40 PM. Reason: new information |

Tuning Fork for me, please
I'll bite - let's keep it under $30 each if possible, because this is a curiosity for me rather than a necessity.

The good price will be dependent on the number, but shouldn't exceed 20 U$D in any case, if I understood the fellow at indigo. I don't think it is a necessity for anyone, but I have been in situations where there was so much low frequency interference that my Korg tuner just couldn't tell what was the bass and what was the HVAC, even with the clip on transducer type. It's even worse if you are near a road that has truck traffic. A calibrated auditory reference sure would be handy. I hear an empty beer bottle is about a "B" frequency .... Hate to empty one that early in the set.

$20-$30?
The Tuning Fork I have was only $1.75, ... but .. that was in 1966.
