![]() Hi there. I have a couple of questions about my '87 BT6.
1) I'd love to know the optimal string to pickup distance, in order to make sure my bass sounds its best. 2) I'm curious about the fret markers on my bass and whether that was a one-off, or they were used for a particular time period and/or specific basses. My bass has "snowflake" fret markers. (and yes, I know my fretboard needs cleaning ![]() Thanks for your help. ![]() |

![]() 1, Distance, so the strings do not hit the pickups when pressed down hard.
2, Yes, we used them for a short time back then. |

![]() Thanks.
So one could fret each string at the 24th fret and then judge if plucking the string might cause it to hit the pickup or not? Basically as close as possible in that scenario? And what about the poles in the pickups. Should they be raised above the pickup cover at all or flush? |

![]() 1, press the strings down over the 24. If it touched the Poles easily, it needs to be lower.. 2, Poles Flush.
