Perhaps Mr. Smith will kindly grace us with his valued opinion or other information about this unusual offering for an uncompleted piece:

!983? If I didn't complete it and it was rejected, then this is a bootlegged/Stolen incomplete carcass bass or a counterfeit. It is not a Smith bass unless it comes from Ken Smith basses with our quality in the build and with our original parts. I don't remember this happening but they say 1983. I wasn't in the shop everyday back then so who knows. Usually build errors and this one at the hands of Fodera if that's from when he worked for me, then it should have been cut up for fire wool like we do with anything that have machine errors. We don't have errors in the handwork here. We don't EVER sell seconds.

Bravo! Good to hear. Mr. Ken Smith. I respect that answer and I like that answer. I'm going to gig with my recently acquired Ken Smith bass tonight. What a pleasure it will be to play it with the band.
