About Me

  • About Eric Swanson
    Musical Background
Started 'cello as a young kid, switched to electric bass at 14, double bass at 15.

Studied with Terry Plumeri for about three years. Briefly with Lew Norton, a few lessons with George Mraz. Had one unforgettable lesson with Robert Brennand.

Lucky enough to get a full scholarship to MSM and insane enough (at the time) to drop out.

Played lots of jazz in large and small groups. Gave up professional playing at 25.

At this point, a passionate amateur who practices daily and plays out with various no-name ensembles.
    Location
    Boston, MA
    Additional Information
Hope to eventually get through all the Bach 'Cello Suites.
    Your Gear
    - Hungarian flatback, thoroughly re-engineered, regraduated, and fully rebuilt by luthier Jed Kriegel
    - Louis Morizot bow
    - Polytone and Eden amps, Mesa Boogie cab
    - Penco (Fender copy) Jazz Bass, fixed up with decent pickups, tuning machines, and bridge
    - Full Circle pickup
    - Underwood pickup. MXR equalizer.
    Why you joined Ken's Corner
Because I dig what Ken does, has done, and stands for, in the world of basses.
