18mm or 19mm - not a problem switching between the two

Both my Smiths are 18mm spacing. Sometimes I play my other basses which are 19mm spacing on a 35inch scale. the 18mm actually feels more comfortable for me.

I have owned basses with 17mm or...

cut-in neck and body

I really enjoy the 'heeless' feature of your basses; where the body and neck meet.

I also like the balance standing or sitting. Many basses can only do one well.

The body shape of the BMT...

Smooth Neck Thru - neck to body construction

Ken,

How did you come up with the construction method of the neck-thru basses? How did you get it to feel so smooth?

No other luthier does this to my knowledge. Is this your patented idea?

Here is a video clip of me with a 70s KSD - 5 String. The Sax player, Keith McKelley, is smoking this solo. Small quasi-bass solo towards the end of the clip. enjoy.
