Ahh, I think I see what you are saying. You must be talking about the 4 setting options within the Bass, Mid, and Treble ranges that are adjusted via the 6 DIP switches. Correct?

What year did the internal Dip switches become an option on KS bases? And how do they change the sound options?

I believe it was 2004 when Ken came out with the 18V pre-amp and DIP Switch opton.

The new 18v unit came out in 2004 on the 25th anniversary models and within that year became standard on all models. As far as sound changes, it depends on how you set it and how you eq. it. If you play with the bass flat, then it's the same. If you set it to the old 9v settings, then it's the same as well.

How? By changing the DIP Switch positions for Bass, Mid, and Treble. You'll have to experiment with these settings and let your ear make the final decision on preferred settings.
