Do you reckon both are from the same factory, but from different times (and models)?

Anyways, Brian, I quite like the bass, too. As Ken said, if there are no problems save some cosmetical dings, it's a good thing. A friend of mine has a similar but slightly older bass, and although he DID get it at a very nice price, now he has to pay some dear money to get it into shape - new neck and board, new braces and other inside jobs (ha!), things like that. He found it in the back of a car that hadn't been running for AGES or something like that - you know, life in the country. These basses can be of just about any quality, and if you found one of the good ones, well, it's good!! Good price for a very decent instrument. Will probably make a nice backing instrument on the day that you have gotten yourself one of the billion dollar babies I know you will.
