Help, please
Hello!
Can't get the knobs off of the pots on one of my Smiths. Will have to do something drastic to get them off. The patterns in the stop screws (right? don't know the right English word) that holds them are busted so the hex key wont grip them. What measures is it on these screws? mm or inches? Need to know when I buy new ones. Anyone who can tell me where I can buy them where they ship internationally? Or if someone kind enough could buy some and send to me. Thanks! |

Which ones?
Which Knobs are they. The current model we use has Knobs we have used for over 20 years. They use a 1/16th inch size wrench. There is no exact metric size. If you use a metric that 'almost' fits, you will have the same problem you have now, maybe.
There are 2 screws in each knob. Loosen both to take off the knob. These are black rubber knobs with metal inserts. The old BT concentric smaller Treble knob has a smaller screw, the same as the bridge saddles .050"/inch. NO Metric substitute, only inch size will work or you will strip the slot. |

It's the new ones. Yes, I figured that out. The hex I tried to use were 1,5 mm. Hope I've only messed up one screw. If I'd like to buy new ones then? Don't know the right terms but here I would say like M4x8mm to get the right size. What's the size of these I need? |

For any business at all with us, contact me thru the company email, not on the forum please. Shipping overseas is very expensive so you may want to add other items like Smith TC Strings to make it worth the shipping costs. sales@kensmithbasses.com In the future, read the FAQ's first and see if your answer is there already. It will help avoid problems like using the wrong wrench. http://www.kensmithbasses.com/faq.html#AnchorComesWith http://www.kensmithbasses.com/ http://www.kensmithbasses.com/email/email.html |

Right, that's why I'd like to know the size so I can buy them here. It's sorted out for now though. Bought a new hex and it worked fine. Will probably need some later on but then I'll turn to you as aked. Wrote here about these small questions to give other chance to answer and not bother you. Thank you for your help! |
