There was NO Elite model name then. If you loosen the treble knob, lift it a hair and then re-tighten it, all should be good.
Also, these are old. Things can happen. No matter what you spend, you can not buy a Car that will last as long without needing service like a Smith bass. Also, the knobs on the Ebony 6 string are NOT from us. So, I do not know what you have in there as well.
