I know a guy who has a bass made entirely of string. He calls it a 'string bass'.
If you look at your double bass when you're really p1ssed, do you see four basses?
I know that 'bass violin' is not technically accurate, but I think I'll use it because it sounds better that 'against bass'... which sounds like you have conflict with the instrument when playing it.
