Wittner Composite Tailpieces?

You might want to try the Marvin Cable Tailpiece.
I tried one on my Bass and it gave it a much more open sound, evened out the response, and made a few wolfs much less of a problem
It was so successful that we also installed one on my sons bass.
It made even more of a difference on his.
For the $80.00 or so cost it may well be worth your trying it.
